Caravan Maintenance Made Simple: Your Annual Checklist

A well-built caravan can take you thousands of kilometres — but only if it’s properly maintained. Regular checks not only protect your investment but also ensure every trip is safe and stress-free. Here’s our simple guide to keeping your Stallion in top form.

Every Trip

  • Check tyre pressure and condition (including your spare).

  • Test lights and indicators before you roll out.

  • Inspect your tow ball, safety chains and coupling for wear.

  • Make sure your battery system is charged and connected.

  • Give your exterior a quick once-over — look for dust build-up or loose fittings.

Quarterly Checks

  • Clean your solar panels for maximum efficiency.

  • Flush out water tanks and pipes to prevent odours.

  • Lubricate hinges and moving parts (doors, stabilisers, jockey wheel).

  • Check your brakes and bearings if you’ve done long-distance travel.

Annual Service

Once a year, book a professional service — especially before peak travel season.
At Stallion, we inspect:

  • Chassis & Suspension – bolts, alignment, weld integrity.

  • Braking System – pads, magnets, and drums.

  • Seals & Silicone Joints – prevent leaks and dust.

  • Appliances & Gas Systems – safety and efficiency checks.

  • Electrical Systems – 12V and 240V wiring, inverter output.

Pro Tip from Our Workshop

After heavy off-road use, wash your undercarriage and check for debris or surface rust. It’s simple care that extends the life of your caravan dramatically.
